Robert’s Excellent Negril Experience

Robert’s excellent Negril experience at Reggae Marathon capped off his year in 2014.  Robert started running in 2008 and since then has travelled throughout Germany to race.  He has also ventured abroad to races around the world with Reggae Marathon high on his list of experiences.  But let him tell you about it himself…

I’ve run since 2008 and started after my ex – wife bought me a book on running.  I found it interesting as a coach and so I started to test it on myself. Since then I’ve done quite a lot of Marathons in Germany and also abroad including Salzburg, Malta, Rome, Biel, Mauritius and of course Reggae Marathon in Jamaica.

We chose Reggae Marathon because Wolfgang, who we ran with at the Mauritius in 2012, recommended it to us. We were looking for a beautiful place to run. I ran the marathon but because I’d gotten hurt 2 weeks before during a run and 4 days before the start had been in the in the hospital I had to do some fast walking for the second half.  My impressions were very positive at the Reggae Marathon.  While it may not be a marathon for a personal best, it is great running event…a treat to run in!

10846364_873155956048852_9036839565092277940_nRobert we’re glad you had an excellent time at Reggae Marathon last December.  Thanks for sharing your story with us.  Good luck with your continued recovery…we wish you all the best in your future running and hope to see you again in Jamaica at Reggae Marathon.

Until next time…
