Unlike most races, Reggae Marathon is a ‘destination’ race for just about everyone. That’s obvious for runners who fly into Jamaica from the over 30 countries that are represented. But it’s true as well for most Jamaicans who make the trek from all over Jamaica to Negril. And it’s a special destination vibe in Negril for the Reggae Marathon weekend that begins on Thursday, November 30 this year…The laid-back beach vacation on one of the best vacation destinations in the world combined with the unique race day experience: 5:15 am Torchlight start and swim in the Caribbean after the finish. We’re 12 days away from race day but less than that if you’re coming in next week. And if you’re like me, you’re counting down the days until you can feel the soft white sand between your toes for the first time…again.
So let’s plan to meet up in Negril First up, Friday evening at the Reggae Marathon Pasta Party. I’ll be there by 4 pm in the general vicinity of the Media Tent. Just ask for the Reggae Marathon RunninGuy! I’ll be around for the World’s Best Pasta Party that gets underway at 5:30 pm. I’ll head out by 8 pm though…my usual 3 am wake up comes soon.
Then on Saturday, look out for me at the Post Race Bash. I’ll be the guy in flip-flops sporting my Reggae Marathon Finisher Medal…yes I do run! I have my two cameras and will be stopping you to ask if I can take your picture and post on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Hope you’ll say yes! And while we’re on Social Media, make sure you’re following us on all three: Instagram and Twitter: @reggaemarathon; Facebook: Reggae Marathon. We use three hashtags: #reggaemarathon, #rm2017; #HomeOfAllright When you post use those so we can see your Reggae Marathon experience.
See you next week in Negril!
Until next time…
