Proud to be a Jamaican

I was proud to say I was a Jamaican after watching the performance of the entire Jamaican team competing at the IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea over the past couple of weeks. There was a lot to celebrate with the on-the-track performances of Veronica Campbell Brown winning in the Women’s 200 M, Yohan Blake in the Men’s 100 M, the Jamaican team in the Men’s 4 x 100 M and of course, the magnificent performance of Usain Bolt in the Men’s 200 M.

“I have to move on now as there is no point to dwell on the past”, said Usain Bolt after his false start and disqualification from the 100 M. That sealed it for me. His performance later in the Championship spoke for itself; the maturity of those words spoke volumes for his character and for the entire team.

That’s why I’m so proud to be a Jamaican.

Until next time…
