|Reggae Marathon Grand Prix Championship To End With Reggae 10K|
Participants in this year’s Burger King/Reggae Marathon Grand Prix Championship will end the event at the Reggae Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K scheduled for Negril on Saturday, December 1.
This extension of the Grand Prix schedule was announced on Wednesday, October 3 by Race Director Alfred Francis at a ceremony in Kingston which saw Restaurant Associates Limited, franchise holders of Burger King Jamaica, presenting over $2.6M in sponsorship to the Jamdammer's Running Club of Kingston, organizers of the event. Frances said the fast food giant’s support, “gives us the opportunity to extend the Grand Prix, which should add even more excitement, especially to the Reggae Marathon 10K event.”

With a Grand Prix prize purse of $510,000 up for grabs, the first race will begin on Sunday, October 7 with the Burger King 7K, which starts at 3:00 p.m. at the Gloucester Avenue restaurant of the title sponsors. The starters for the Burger King Portmore 10K will take their places at the restaurant’s Portmore location on Sunday, November 11 at 7:00 a.m. All participants will then gather for the final race, the Reggae 10K, at Long Bay Beach Park on Saturday, December 1, where the champions will be crowned.
