| The 2003 event continues to build
on the remarkable successes of the 2001 and 2002 races. There is
a ‘buzz’ about the Reggae Marathon throughout the worldwide
running community. Over 1500 visitors arrived in Negril for the
inaugural race in 2001. |
| The 2002 event was even more successful than
2001 with 2000 plus visitors to the casual capital of Jamaica.
The world's best marathon pasta party was the talk of the participants. |
| Spectators are treated to a special experience
at the Reggae Marathon as reggae music is heard from 'sound systems'
both tethered and mobile with wattage that could power a house.
Jamaicans take their music and the means of delivering it very
seriously. |
