“Top Tips for Choosing the Best Running Wear for Women” by Angie Newton

1. Choose a solid shoe

Take a trip to a local specialty running store so that they can analyze your feet and determine the perfect fit to help you choose the right shoe.  Be sure to bring your current pair of running shoes so the sales associates can see the current wear on the shoe.  It’s also best to wear the socks you would normally wear with the shoes.  Most specialty running shoes have a wide variety of popular brand shoes so you’re sure to find the right one for you.

2. Choose moisture wicking clothing

It’s important to have moisture wicking clothes so that you can stay dry and comfortable while you’re running.  It also helps to prevent getting overheated.  Whether it’s a short run or a long race like a marathon, it’s important to stay comfortable.  Many name brands like Champion and Under Armour carry a variety of moisture wicking apparel such as shirts, pants, shorts, bras, headbands and more.

3. Choose a good Sports Bra

There are so many types and brands of sports bras so just like shoes, there is a huge variety to choose from and it’s important to do your research.  Look for a good moisture wicking sports bra, not a cotton one.  You can try running in place or do jumping jacks in the dressing room to see how the impact is because you want to be sure the sports bra has enough support.  There are different sports bras for low impact to high impact workouts.  Another option would be to go to a specialty store to get fitted just as you would your new pair of running shoes.

A great pair of running shoes, moisture wicking clothing and a good sports bra are my top picks for the best running wear for women.  Fashionable is great but comfort should be number one on the list in my opinion.  And of course, there are a lot of other extra items that could be necessary depending on the weather conditions in your specific area.
