Obsessive Runner?

I love running!  I’m an obsessive runner!  And proudly so…

I run as often as I can.  When I travel I pack running gear and no matter the jet lag look forward to getting up before dawn to run in a new town or city.  I learn so much about a place by running along streets and through communities.

I run when I’m tired.  I slog the first minutes with heavy steps and ragged breathing but miraculously I always settle into a comfortable rhythm and more often than not have a great run.  I have a feeling of great satisfaction after finishing a run that started out rough.

I run when I’m sick. I think that the best way to fight a flu or cold is to go for a run using my own body’s heat to fight the infection.  No I haven’t reviewed this with my doctor so I don’t recommend it or know if it even works.  I know it makes me feel good though.

I dream about running.  Sometimes about past runs most often about the run I’m looking forward to when I wake up.  Dreaming about running also effectively puts me to sleep.

Yes, I’m an obsessive runner.  And I’m not alone…

87767803Yes I’m an obsessive runner but then so are my running friends.  We’re obsessive but running hasn’t taken over our lives…yes we talk about other things beyond running.  If you are concerned though, check out these 10 signs that Running Has Taken Over Your Life.

Until next time…
