Half Marathon, 10K & 5K Races

Running for Beer

Running for beer?  I run for a lot of reasons:  To stay healthy, to achieve personal goals, to share stories with my running friends, for the community of runners.  Running for beer, though popular in certain quarters, I have not done.

Well…..

At Reggae Marathon post-race, Red Stripe is on tap.  Not literally but in those familiar stubbies.  I have had a cold beer early morning after finishing my 10K and it tastes good!  Really good.  So I have run for beer after all.

Red Stripe at Reggae Marathon is for support.  There are races where beer is the main theme.  And the Reggae Marathon family is never far away.  In the photo above is Karen Savitch of the Reggae Marathon group Easy Skankin.  Rocking the costume…and running with a beer…demonstrating what running for beer is all about.  For more on this phenomenon (and to catch a better photo of her in costume), check out this link:  Hoppiness:  Beer Running

Watching me run, drink a beer, run some more would not be a pretty sight.  Funny…not pretty!

Until next time…
