Training programs for Marathons, Half Marathon’s and 10K’s come in every conceivable permutation and combination. From Newbies to Seasoned runners, there’s a program for you. And don’t fool yourself…if you plan to race, you need to train. Running is the one sport where you get out of it exactly what you put into it. There’s nowhere to hide…the clock exposes all.
As Seasoned runners know, the competition is not external: It’s all about setting your personal goals and working toward achieving them. It’s the one time when ‘it’s all about you!’ But you don’t have to train alone. When I was training for my first Marathon, the Reggae Marathon in 2009, I joined a running club. Their advice on shoes, running gear, nutrition and everything in between provided the edge I needed to finish. And the weekly runs! Without those I would not have gotten through Mile 20!
Take a look at the training resources we have at Reggae Marathon as you look ahead to summer running preparing for December 2 in Negril. We’ve got run/walk training programs along with full run programs for our three events, the 10K, Half Marathon and Full Marathon. Plus other links and resources on nutrition and running gear. You can find everything you need here: Reggae Marathon Training.
Until next time…
