Inspiration. Motivation. Some days even the most ardent runner needs encouragement.
Some of the ladies from Black Girls Run were in Negril last December…they were truly inspiring! I walked for a few minutes with a Black Girl Run Half Marathoner who needed a little encouragement…she ended up inspiring me! I understand there’s a ‘huge’ contingent’ coming to Reggae Marathon December 7 . I can’t wait to meet up with them at the Pasta Party Friday night and run with them on Saturday morning. In the meantime, some inspiration…
One step in front of the other is all it takes to be a runner. A good pair of shoes, t shirt and shorts. After that running gear can get as sophisticated as the weather conditions…and your wallet…dictate. But running begins with that first step…
Replace ‘Couch’ with ‘Bed’ and us early bird runners can feel even better about starting the
day with an early morning run. Plus running before the sunrise is good practice for the 5:15 am Reggae Marathon start.
And in a lifetime of running are there ever a lot of curves to negotiate. I’ve learned that it’s best to just slow down for the curves. Hey…maybe that’s just the age talking…
Until next time…
