Come Home Jamaica

It’s always a good year to celebrate being Jamaican:  our people, culture, sports, art and music.  In 2012, every Jamaican on the planet will have the opportunity to celebrate as Jamaicans take  to the track at the Olympic games in London this summer, and more importantly, as we all celebrate the 50th year our Independence.

I was all of 4 years old when Jamaica officially achieved Independence.  While I can’t accurately recall exactly how I spent that day, I do remember the massive sense of excitement that surrounded that significant event in buy viagra Jamaica’s history.  There was a lot of noise and celebration in our house that day!  The official theme of the 50th Anniversary in 2012 is ‘Come Home Jamaica‘ and for you runners out there, what better year to come home and participate in the Reggae Marathon this December 1.

Additionally, at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England, Usain Bolt and the entire squad of the world’s fastest runners will descend on the Olympic track to show their stuff.  Again, all Jamaicans and those who see themselves as Jamaican will be actively tuned into their performance. I won’t miss a moment!

Yes, 2012 is a great year to come home to Jamaica. For a taste of what to expect, check out this video:

I’m running a number of races this year but am especially looking forward to Negril in December for my ‘Come Home Jamaica’ celebration at Reggae Marathon December 1.

Until next time…
