Half Marathon, 10K & 5K Races

Summer running here we come!

Running and summer are two of my favorite things.  Running in Negril ranks at the top of my list as well:  the vibe is distinctly laid-back and the beach is uniquely fabulous and the weather…!

These pictures from last year’s Reggae Marathon are some of my favorites of life on the beach in the summer.

Does life get any better than this? I think not

You got up at 4 am, stumbled out of your hotel, grabbed a quick breakfast on your way to the start line for th 5:15 am torchlight start.  By then the reggae and the crowds had worked their magic and you were pumped!  But the true reward came after you crossed the finish line and received your medal:  straight to the beach!

OK, maybe it does...

OK, maybe it does...

These guys know how to celebrate their success in the Reggae Marathon.  Misting tent, fresh coconuts and of course cold Red Stripe.

Celebrating the finish Reggae Marathon style

There are many ways to cross the finish line:  arms up in the air and thumbs up are the traditional gestures.  These guys take it up a notch with their victory dance.

Do you have any favorite memories of Negril or Reggae Marathon?  We’d love to see them.  Check out our Facebook page a this link: Reggae Marathon on Facebook and share your picture and story.

Keep on running this summer!

Until next time…
