Half Marathon, 10K & 5K Races

Wish you were here at Reggae Marathon

It's a really early 'wakey, wakey' time for the start of Reggae Marathon.  For 11 straight years Reggae Marathon Race Director Frano has sent us off promptly at 5:15 am from Long Bay Beach Park on the road in Negril, Jamaica.  It's a safe bet that Reggae Marathon 2012 will keep the record alive and well.

I spy a number of Running Girlz from Burlington, Ontario in this photo at the start.  Pumped and ready to run.  Coming to Negril to run Reggae Marathon with a group of family, friends and fellow runners qualifies as the best running vacation.  Just ask Larry Savitch and Easy Skankin of Florida, New York who will be back again this December.

I know Carrie Tollesfon is holding the microphone but is it Carrie interviewing Reggae Marathon Race Director Frano

or the other way around?  Carrie produces some great vid

eos about her life and running.  Take a look at this one, her re-cap of Reggae Marathon 2011.

Rupert Green, multiple Reggae Marathon winner didn't disappoint either.  Even though I'm a mid-pack runner, I still imagine 'breaking the tape' every time I cross the finish line.  Congratulations to everyone who takes on the challenge, sweats out the training, lines up at the start and makes it to the finish!  See you in Negril this December.

Until next time…
