Half Marathon, 10K & 5K Races

5 Days to Reggae Marathon: On course for a great finish

There are lots of places for your ‘Significant Other’, Family and Friends to cheer you along on the Reggae Marathon course. The full Reggae Marathon runs over ord

of the closed course. We all start at 5:15 am at Long Bay Beach Park when Frano sounds the horn…Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K.

We head down the highway to the round-a-bout in Negril and head back past the start/finish line. For the 10 K, about 200 metres past the start/finish line is the final turn back to the finish chute. Don’t worry, it is well marked and volunteers give great directions.

Both the Full Marathon and 1/2 Marathon runners continue on out to the turn point at Mile 9 just past the RIU Resort and head back to Long Bay Beach Park. 1/2 Marathoners are directed to the finish chute and Full Marathoners are directed to complete their second loop. Since most of the hotels are within this stretch of highway, there are lots of folks cheering us on. And with aid stations located at every mile with Reggae Music playing, there really isn’t a dull moment. This is Reggae Marathon after all. Take a look at the Reggae Marathon course map below (click on it to download it).

Look out for me at 4 am next Saturday morning in my Puma and Walking Cast making my way to the start line for Reggae Marathon 2012.

Until next time…
