Easy Skankin…Easy Running at Reggae Marathon #3

He’s a physical fitness buff.  Loves running.  And he’s 100% Jamaican ‘by association’ in his words.  That’s Larry Savitch who is back this December for his third-in-a-row Reggae Marathon.  And yes he’s bringing a number of members from his Easy Skankin group for run, beach and sun.  I wonder what T-Shirt design he’ll come up with this year?

Larry’s had a bit of a tough go running the past few months.  He toughed his way through an intense race weekend and paid the price with a nagging knee injury.  Like me, he’s been a bit cranky not being able to run regularly.  And like me he has a very supportive wife!  Thankfully.  Larry, you and I are going to have to face reality:  we are now

Seasoned Runners!  Time to just go running.

That’s the thing about running.  After you get through the obligatory ‘Competitive Phase’, you get to the ‘Zen Phase’:  running for the fun of it.  That’s when running becomes the purest and most enjoyable:  you just go out and run.  After a few years of nagging foot injuries myself, I’m transitioning into the Zen Phase.  Larry, care to join me this year?  I know you love Reggae Marathon so let’s just go out for a run this December 7. If it turns into a PR…bonus!  Then we can relax and enjoy a couple of Red Stripes on Sunday afternoon at Margaritaville.

Until next time…
