Running from England to Negril

Steve Forsyth isn’t literally running from England to Negril, but he is a runner, he lives in England and he’s coming with his family to run in Negril at Reggae Marathon, December 2. He’s got a powerful reason…here’s his story:

I have three children, one of whom has Musclar Dystrophy and is in a wheelchair. One day my son said to me,  “Dad I will never walk”. I was so moved that I responded, “I will walk for the two of us”. That was in 2012 when I started running…I ran the BUPA Half Marathon in Birmingham England. Since then I’ve lost over 5 Stone!

Check out Whizz Kidz, the charity that  my son is an ambassador for.  You can read his story on their website, WhizKids.

I should also mention that my wife’s family is all from Jamaica.  We got married in Jamaica in 2007 so this year it’s  our 10 year wedding anniversary.  It’s also my wife’s 40th birthday and her Aunty’s 60th so we are all coming to Jamaica to PARTY…what better way to do it than to run one of the top 10 marathons on the planet!!!

Before and After…16 Stone down to 11 Stone

10th wedding anniversary, 40th birthday, getting into better shape, running for his child…Steve, that’s a pretty potent combination.  We so look forward to meeting and running with you in Negril this December.  Thanks for sharing your story.

Until next time…
