Happy New Year!
Hello 2014!!
How did you ring in the new year? Are you going for a ‘hair-of-the-dog’ run today?
Over the years I’ve found that good things happen if I start the year with a run. Last year with the bones in my foot not completely healed I didn’t run on January 1. I did get out for a long walk…that was good. To start 2014, I was out early this morning for my first run of the year. It was great!! And while I’m not one for making big resolutions, I did think about three for 2014:
- Race more. I like both the 10K and Half Marathon distances and plan to race more of both this year.
- Train smarter. The last 3 years have been injury filled ones for me. I plan to add cycling and swimming this year and that should not only help my running but will improve my overall fitness.
- Eat better. I really have to get rid of the salty snacks! This will be tough…check back with me later this year.
That’s it for me this year. How about you: have you made any resolutions for 2014?
Until next time…
