Connections. Real life and online, I love making new connections. Especially with runners.
I met Linda through a mutual business associate who is a runner. He’s traveled to Jamaica many times and knows all about Reggae Marathon. Last week he mentioned that an associate of his, a fellow runner, was going to be in Negril this December for her first Reggae Marathon.
Linda is a relatively new runner (she started running 18 months ago) but she does love adventure and has a ‘ton of enthusiasm’ for running. She also loves the mud! The photo below was her before the start of the Mud Hero 6K event…in the photo above that’s her crossing the finish line…finishers HAD to scamper through the mud ditch to finish!
It was a 6K run with mud and obstacles and was an absolute blast! I had no idea what to expect and did ok, all things considered. Don’t remember my time as that was not my true goal, just finishing the race was my goal.
Some of the obstacles were quite challenging for me…and I’m afraid of heights!
Well Linda there’s no mud in Negril at Reggae Marathon just soft white sand on the beach beside the Finish Area. So after you grab your fresh cut coconut and cold Red Stripe , take a dip in the Caribbean Sea for a refreshing end to your first Reggae Marathon. See you in Negril soon.
Until next time…
