In 2010, I ran in my first Reggae Marathon. I was new to running and really had no idea what to expect. I was not prepared for the heat and as much of a morning person that I am, waking up at 3:45 am for a race was also something that I was not prepared for. Over the years, I have learned to adjust to the heat by going for runs a day or two before the race. But that 3:45 am wake up, adjusting to that is a little harder ?
What kept me coming back is the people that I’ve met. Because of the people I’ve met, my first Reggae Marathon has turned into ten consecutive trips to Negril for the race. And each year, I see the race differently and meet new people.
