Another perfect day in Negril

Ahhh…another perfect day in Negril.  It started with waking to the sounds of the waves gently rolling up onto the beach…

While relaxing on beach after last December’s Reggae Marathon, we were musing about how good life was. “Another perfect day in paradise” was the sentiment and that got us talking about our perfect day in Negril.

Early risers even on vacation, we get up and after a few minutes of stretching, head out for a run.  On the stretch of Norman Washington Boulevard where our hotel is located, sidewalks now run the entire way to the round-a-bour in Negril.  Easy running and no need to dodge vehicles by running along the side of the road.

Once back at our hotel and after a quick rinse to clean off the sweat, we change into beach wear and head the beach to stake out our lounges for the day.  Then it’s back to the hotel’s beach-front resaturant for breakfast.  Lots of cold water, fresh OJ and of course hot Blue Mountain coffee.  And despite other tasty items on the menu, it’s inevitable that we choose Ackee and Saltfish.  Mouth. Watering!

Over lots of conversation we enjoy breakfast leisurely.  The talk starts with running but moves beyond that to catching up on what’s going on in our lives.  Eventually after our tummies are full and plates cleared, we head down to the beach for early morning sunning.  And that’s when it really starts to feel like a perfect day in Negril.

Hey…it’s time for lunch.  How about a Patty?  That’s another story…

Until next time…
