Half Marathon, 10K & 5K Races

Choosing the Right Distance

Choosing the Right Distance

You know what’s great about the Reggae Marathon? You have many options for a race distance. You can choose from the 10k, the half marathon, or the marathon.

If you’re new to running or unsure how you will handle running in the heat, the 10k distance is most likely for you. And the bonus to running the 10K, you get the most time on the beach after the race. You’ll be among the first to enjoy your coconut and Red Stripe. If you are a little more experienced and are up for the challenge of running a half, then that’s the option for you. The weather does tend to get warm as most runners get to the second turn around, so be sure you are hydrating.

And for those who really want a test, there is the marathon. The marathon loops the half marathon course, so as you finish the first loop, you will see many people finishing their half. Don’t let that scare you. As you make the second loop, the sun will be hitting the pavement. Not only will you need water but be sure to have some Gatorade and other nutrition along the way. And most importantly, don’t forget to run through those misting stations. That will ensure that you finish the race and feel good.

And if you are running the virtual Reggae Marathon, you also have the option to do a virtual 5k in addition to the other options listed above.

Whatever race distance you choose, you won’t be disappointed with the post-race celebration on the beach!
