Some days it’s hard to find the motivation to go for a run. Sometimes the weather isn’t great. Sometimes we didn’t sleep well the night before a run. And sometimes we had a long day at work and the thought of putting in your running shoes and getting out for a few miles just seems like the last thing you want to do. I’ve been there many times. We have ALL been there many times.
My number one motivator for getting out for a run is planning a run with friends. Knowing that someone is there holds me accountable to get out there for some miles. My other motivator is thinking of the food that I will be able to eat when I finish my run. Especially my long run on the weekends. I live (and run) for brunch. Knowing that I’ve already burned a few hundred to a thousand calories makes eating a plate full of pancakes that much easier.
