Don’t worry, they’ll tell you. That’s the old adage. There are so many things that we, as runners, assume about our non-runner friends know about running. A make the assumption that everyone that I talk to about running has the same knowledge base that I do. I think that they’ve subscribed to Runner’s World magazine like I do. I think that they’re following professional runners on Instagram and Strava. And of course, any time there is a track meet on tv, that they’re glued to the tv just like I am. But alas, they’re not doing the same. They may watch the Olympics when they’re on tv every four years, but that is likely the extent of their running/track and field knowledge.
What are some assumptions that your non-runner friends have about being a runner?
Keep on running!
