If you can walk you can run! Nothing wrong with walking…after an injury or break from running I walk to ease back into my running routine. And I skip elevators and walk up stairways every chance I get. And at Reggae Marathon a few years back I walked the 10K and had the most enjoyable time talking with other walkers and taking pictures. But I do love my running…today we celebrate the zen of running with inspiration from Gibson’s Daily Running Quotes:
“People speak of finding balance. To me, that’s a misplaced ambition. If you have balance, you do everything okay. But to excel at your craft, you need obsessive, unbridled fanaticism. Not only does excellence require such commitment, it demands it. A life worth living is frenetic, disjointed, breakneck, and quite fantastic. Balance doesn’t lead to happiness—impassioned dedication to one’s life purpose does.” – Dean Karnazes, The Road to Sparta: Reliving the Ancient Battle and Epic Run That Inspired the World’s Greatest Footrace
“I have the guts to set seemingly impossible goals and then methodically work toward them because I’m a runner. I realize my limitations because I am a runner. I appreciate the strengths and accept the weaknesses of my body because I’m a runner. I know how to keep on keeping on, even when I’m sure I’ve got nothing left to give, because I’m a runner.” – Dimity McDowell, Run Like a Mother: How to Get Moving–and Not Lose Your Family, Job, or Sanity
Until next time…
