Jerk n Ting! Couldn’t leave Negril last December without a meal of Jerk Chicken, Rice and Peas and of course a cold Ting.
Sunday evening after spending the morning on the beach and the late afternoon on a bus tour of some off-the-beaten restaurants and bars in Negril’s west end, we caught a nearly perfect sunset. It was a great way to enjoy the post Reggae Marathon Experience!
Eager to participate in another Reggae Marathon tradition, a couple of us made our way to a Jerk place we’ve been going to for many years. It’s a shack really: Kitchen out back, covered porch out front, Chalk board showing what’s available that day.

Silence decended as we dug into our meal. Occasional we paused to take a swig of Ting but mostly we focused on savouring the Jerk. Once done, we order a cold Red Stripe to top off another memorable meal and celebrate another successful trip to Negril for Reggae Marathon. My mouth is watering already looking forward to another Jerk n Ting meal at Reggae Marathon Sweet 16.
Until next time…
