With just over three months til the Reggae Marathon, you should have started your training. Whether you are running the half marathon or the marathon, you want to make sure you have a good base as you start to ramp up your mileage.
For many runners, they hire a coach to set them up with a training plan. Each week the mileage will increase, and it should include both rest days and some cross training too. Be open with your coach about your coach about your expectations and what you feel you are capable of doing on a weekly basis. And stick to the plan!
And if you don’t have a coach, don’t fear, there are many plans that you find online. Many of them are tiered to meet your needs and level. Some of the popular ones are the Hanson’s Method and Jack Daniels. Be honest with yourself and what you know you can do. Don’t try and do more than you think you can.
And what it most important is to relax and enjoy the process.
