Will you join the rest of the world in showing your support for Boston? The letter below from Simon Blackburn and is a great way to show your support. All you have to do is run to/from work this Friday, April 26 and donate your commuting costs. All details are below. I’m in!
By participating in Run To Work Day 2013 your runners can directly support those families most affected by the tragic
events of 15th April at the Boston Marathon.
Last week Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Menino announced the formation of The One Fund Boston as a central fund to receive much needed financial support.
As Boston Mayor Menino put it “We are one Boston. We are one community and, as always, we will come together to help those most in need. In the end, we will all be better for it”.
The organizers of the London Marathon donated £2 for each runner who completed Sunday’s race to The One Fund Boston. But now your runners can show their support by taking part in Run To Work Day wearing the finisher T-shirt from your event.
Run To Work Day is an event that encourages people to run their commute to or from work on Friday 26th April 2013 and donate the money that they would otherwise have spent on travel and parking to a charity/non-profit.
Run To Work Day co-founder, Simon Blackburn, commented “What happened in Boston touched all runners and we have responded by creating a unique way that the global running community can show their support on one day though running and donating.”
Runners can register today for FREE at www.runtoworkday.com then on Friday 26th April simply click on The One Fund Boston logo on the event website to donate their travel and parking money.
