OK, time for runner roll call. Checking in with the running groups we know of so far who are running in Reggae Marathon this Sunday, December 2:
These are just a few of the 500+ Reggae Runnerz from the US, , post-race. Yes, running gear and all, a dash into the Caribbean at Long Bay Beach Park. Lisa Laws is the ringleader…she’s already been in Negril checking things out for 2018.
Off The Grid is headed up by Ingrid Wilson. Getting the post-race group photo in the Caribbean is just one of the special photo ops at Reggae Marathon (Friday night at the Pasta Party is another).
Bonnie Fowler leads the Reggae Rebels. What started with just a handful of running friends from her running club has grown into a core group of Reggae Marathoners who come back each year.
Larry Savitch of Florida, New York booked his hotel for Reggae Marathon 2018 before he left Negril last December. He says it’s the best way to stay motivated throughout the year. And he brings a few running friends: Easy Skankin. We’re looking forward to seeing your 2018 T Shirt design Larry.
Mayumi Iwao, Reggae Marathon Ambassador is hard to miss out on the road at Reggae Marathon. You may have seen her at other running events both in Jamaica and the US…looking forward to seeing you and your running friends this December Mayumi.
The Road to Jamaica begins in Australia and makes it’s way to Negril this December. This is the dream of Lynette Bullio and she’s got a few friends coming along. They’ve been training hard and should be ready for the road in Negril.
We know of other groups of runners coming from Japan, the UK, Holland, Germany and various cities across the US. We’d love to connect with you all so drop us a line: [email protected]
Until next time…
