There can be no finer reward for successfully completing the Reggae Marathon, Half Marathon or 10K than heading to Negril’s West End for a sunset celebration. From high up on the cliffs, most vantage points allow for a breathtaking view of the sun sinking into the Caribbean Sea.
One popular location is Rick’s Cafe. It’s a busy spot but there are many great vantage points from which to take your sunset photo for Instagram and Facebook (Hint, hint…make sure to share them on the Reggae Marathon Facebook Page).
Along with the sunset celebration, Rick’s Cafe is well know for cliff diving.. I am in awe of anyone who can climb out onto the ledge and take the plunge. I much prefer sipping my cold Red Stripe and watching the professional divers…or you ‘Crazy Kids’ who want to take the leap.
Just looking at this photo gives me the chills. If you do take the challenge, just do so before imbibing!
Rick’s Cafe is well known of course but there are quite a few other restaurants and bars along Negril’s West End where you can have your own sunset celebration. Check with your hotel’s concierge. I’ll see you there after Reggae Marathon!
