When I first told some friends I was going to Negril for the Reggae Marathon they thought that I was going to a Reggae music festival that was going to last for hours! After explaining to them that I would be going to Jamaica to run a half marathon, they thought I was crazy. Crazy for doing  a race in the heat, crazy for doing a race that starts at 5:15 am. And admittedly so, maybe I am a little bit crazy for wanting to do a race in the heat that starts at 5:15 am. But the end results – ending on the beach, getting a cold Red Stripe and fresh coconut make it all worth it.
