What did you do with your slightly used running shoes at last December’s Reggae Marathon? I almost did what I normally do and threw them out. In an email exchange with Ramone, he reminded me that I could put them to good use by donating them.
It struck me then that It’s the little things that we do in life that have the biggest impact. I immediately cleaned up the three used pairs I had, packed them and brought them to the donation box at the Reggae Marathon when I registered. Other than the space they took up in my suitcase, it was an easy thing for me to do. Because I change my shoes often, they were in great shape with lots of life left.
The impact? Kids who would have done without shoes got to run in the Reggae Marathon with a decent pair.
Thanks for the reminder Ramone. I know it’s early in the year but as you continue running and training for the 2011 Reggae Marathon December 3 in Negril, remember the running shoes. Thanks for the reminder, Ramone.
Until next time…
