Reggae Marathon 2011 is less than a week away!  At the victory party on the beach after the finish at Long Bay Beach Park it will all be worth it.

The party starts this weekend for those of you who've arrived in Negril ahead of Reggae Marathon to spend some 'quality time' in the sun with a cold beverage on the soft white sand of the Negril beach.  We'll hoist one together next Saturday after the race to celebrate victory.

It's also taper time this week.  Some easy runs along the beach or Norman Manley Highway to get aclimatized to the warmer temperatures in Negril will help.  Keep hydrated during your run, take it easy and run facing traffic.  Remember in Jamaica vehicles drive on the left side of the road!

Next

week makes it Reggae Marathon #3.  I'm as excited now as I was for my first one in 2009.  The miles of training, aches and pains and injuries have started to magically fade away as I look forward to next Saturday in Negril for Reggae Marathon 2011.  See you at the finish line.  It'l be worth it!
