I spent last night on Facebook. Thankfully my wife Sally was out for the evening.
I got home from work after ‘one of those days’ and only had energy to heat up some leftovers. I turned on the radio and booted up the laptop. After checking emails, the news (I love the Twitter updates from the Jamaica Observer), I settled in with Facebook. Before I knew it, 2 hours had passed. Wow! Unfortunately I missed running…this morning a long run for sure.
Has that ever happened to you? It was a first for me. Usually I jump in a couple of times each day to check up on what my friends and family are doing. Somehow this time I got completely engrossed with both personal and Reggae Marthon Fan conversations. Reggae Marathon Facebook Fans really are the best.
The first conversation started when I posted on my personal page how I really felt about Hump Day (Wednesday). I wasn’t having a great week up to that point. I received a ton of comments that helped turn the corner on the grumpies.
Then onto Reggae Marathon. With less than 6 months to go to 5:15 am on December 3 in Negril the buzz surrounding the race has started to build. I’m looking forward to connecting with all of you who are flying in to Jamaica for the race. Negril is a great vacation and running experience. It’s been on my highlight reel for the past couple of years.
I’m looking forward to the finish line once again: loud reggae music, medal over my head, cold Red Stripe and fresh coconut. Then on to a refreshing swim in the Caribbean before the Awards party on the beach. Time to book my ticket…and register!
And yes Sally did come home and find me still playing on Facebook. Flowers for her this evening.
Until next time…
