Negril is my favourite beach.  Bondi in Sydney, Australia; Ka’anapali in Maui; Kamari in Santorini…these are some of my other favourites to name just a few.  But time after time and year after year I’m drawn to the miles of soft white sand that is Negril Beach in Jamaica.  I’m a beach bum at heart…it doesn’t take much to get me to drop what I’m doing and head to the beach!

It helps that my all time favourite road race, Reggae Marathon, is held in Negril.  I love the entire Reggae Marathon experience…from the drive to Negril, the Pasta Party Saturday night, the early morning start time on Sunday and especially the dash onto the Negril beach right after finishing!

From childhood experiences with my family on the beach in Negril back when hotels and resorts were sparse to today, the basic experience hasn’t changed much:  Bathing suit, sand, sun, water. And an adult beverage…beer…or two!  But I save that for after Reggae Marathon…don’t want to throw all my hard training away.

It’s nice to see that I’m not the only one who loves the beach in Negril.  In this article, Negril is toward the top of the list for Best Beaches In The World!
