One Foot in Front of the Other

One Foot in Front of the Other

Do you have a running mantra? Most of us have one. It’s that phrase that we repeat to ourselves as we are struggling during a long run, getting ready to start a race, or when we are struggling at the end of the race and just need something to focus on as we head toward the finish line. Mantras are usually short and catchy and easy to remember. When I am struggling during a run or a race, I repeat to myself “One foot in front of the other.” Running is as simple as that putting one foot in front of the other foot.

You’re running mantra can be something inspirational, motivational, or even something funny. If you have friends cheering you on at a race, having your mantra on sign for you to see as you run past them. It’s always good to not only hear it, but also to see it.

If you are stuck thinking of a running mantra here are some that you can use:

  • “Be strong. Be bold.”
  • “Up and over.”
  • “Stronger with every step.”
  • “Steady forward momentum.”
  • “Be fearless.”
  • “You’re getting stronger and faster.”
  • “Get it done.”
  • “You’re tougher than this hill.

The article linked below tells us why it’s important to have a running mantra.
