The Reggae Marathon Pasta Party starts at 5:30 pm at the Couples Swept Away Sporting Complex in Negril. Don’t be late!
Because Reggae Marathon 2018 runs on Sunday, December 2, a change from previous years, the World’s Best Pasta Party happens on Saturday night December 1. But with the date change, one thing remains the same: A great opportunity to carbo load while catching up with friends. All outside under the warm Negril evening.
The Reggae Marathon Pasta Party takes place at the same place as onsite registration and Race Packet pickup. Get there before 5:30 pm to pick up your Race Packet if you want to take care of two tasks at once. One of the great added benefits for all Reggae Marathoners is that the cost of the Pasta Party is included in our Race Registration!
Once inside the gates to the Pasta Party, it’s like Carbo Heaven! Multiple food stations are set up around the perimeter of the compound that help reduce time standing in line. Each food station features carbo and other tasty sides prepared by Chefs and Staff from a number of the Hotel Resorts in Negril. It’s not an official competition but they sure work hard to serve up great tasting pasta. Tip: Look out for the Rasta Pasta!
Grab a table wherever you can. Even if you don’t know the people sitting there…this is the best way to meet new people and make new friends. You’ll meet runners from across Jamaica and around the world…Reggae Marathon attracts runners from over 35 countries.
Then as the sun sets, settle in for some live entertainment. For years now the Silver Birds Steel Orchestra has been the star attraction at the Pasta Party and they put on a heck of a show! Often a few Reggae Marathoners will join in with dancing…it’s a great way to keep loose.
Then by 8:30 pm things wrap up. Unlike most parties in Jamaica, the Reggae Marathon Pasta Party starts and ends early. That’s because the 5:15 am race start time on Sunday morning comes early. We do have to get some sleep before the early morning wake up.
Look out for me around the Media Tent just inside the Couples Swept Away Sporting Complex from around 4 pm onward on Saturday. I’d love to meet up with you before we head into the the Reggae Marathon 2018 Pasta Party.
Until next time…
