I’ve been laid up from running recently after suffering from some hairline fractures in my right foot. I’ve been keeping in shape for Reggae Marathon with swimming combined with running in the pool. It’s been great but I miss running.
Staying motivated and inspired has been a challenge so I find myself looking for all the motivating and inspiring quotes I can. I found some great inspiration from Black Girls Run who are based in Atlanta, Georgia. They often post inspiration and motivation on their Facebook page. Some make me laugh out loud, others get me to stop and think; all of them remind me that I’ll be back to running soon. Here are a few of my recent favourites.
Amen to that! This one always gets me to crack a smile. Hey…I was a fat kid and I knew even then that without getting off my butt and doing something physical was the best way to ‘slim down’ and stay healthy. No one ran in my family growing up…now that I’m a parent and runner, everyone runs!
I love my salty snacks. And I love to eat. For sure too much ‘junk food’ is unhealthy but eating too much ‘good food’ is also bad. What I’ve come to learn that portion size is as important as the type of food you eat and how it’s prepared. I don’t want to be too preachy here, but deep fried anything is … not good.
Run, run, run! No fancy equipment required just a good pair of running shoes and comfortable clothes and you can run. That’s the nice thing about running. I’m anxiously looking forward to my first run in a few weeks once the air cast is gone. And no, I won’t have it with me in Negril for Reggae Marathon this December.
Do you have a favourite inspirational or motivational running quote? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
Until next time…
