Negril isn’t called ‘The Capital of Casual‘ for nothing. Normally is a laid back place to really relax and enjoy the terrific Jamaican vibe. But for a few days every year, the pace picks us in Negril. This year, the fun and excitement begins November 29 when the Reggae Marathon crew rolls into Negril. What To Expect…
Runners from over 30 countries will enjoy a weekend of events beginning with race registration and packet pick-up on Thursday & Friday, November 29 & 30th, at the Couples Swept Away Sporting Complex. On Friday, the JHTA Negril’s World’s Best Pasta Party begins at 5:30 pm with the award-wining Silver Bird Steel Band guaranteed to get you warmed up in more ways than one. Listen out for a surprise performance as well. On race day, come prepared to run and relax till noon with live entertainment featuring the Digicel Rising Stars and other artistes at the Finish Line Beach Bash beginning at 7 a.m. Click here for more information. |

From the World’s Best Pasta Party, through every mile, to the Finish Line Beach Bash we’ll keep you moving to the sounds of music, music and more sweet Reggae music. To mark our 12th year, we’ll celebrate the 12 Music Masters who operate the mobile sound stations, an integral part of the Reggae Marathon from year one. Dotted along the race route, these passionate lovers of music engage in friendly competition to outdo each other to care for you – the Reggae Runner. They know how much the power of music will “make you wanna move your dancing and running feet.”

It’s not polite to blow your own horn but in this case we can’t help ourselves! 2012 has been a very good year for Reggae Marathon. We were awarded the prestigious Abe Issa Award of Excellence by the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association (JHTA) and for the 4th time we were named as one of the world’s top 10 marathons. As we say in Jamaica, “our glad bag buss!”.

| Play It Forward! Donate Your Good (Used) Running Shoes!
Many children who participate in Reggae Marathon‘s Grand Prix Road Race Series need good running shoes. Instead of throwing out those good used running shoes, bring them to Reggae Marathon in Negril and drop them in a specially marked box at Registration and at the Finish Line. Your donation will be distributed to the children taking part in our road races.
