160! That’s the new total of the ladies that are joining Lisa Laws this December 7 at Reggae Marathon 2013!
If there was a trophy for diligence and perseverance in the face of challenges, Lisa Laws of Black Girls Run would win it! 142 Black Girls Run in total will be in Negril for Reggae Marathon 2013, December 7. And from what I’ve seen so far from them on Facebook, it will be a party at the start at 5:15 am and again post-race. They have a Post Reggae Marathon party planned for Saturday evening at Tree House and I’ve been invited. Sounds like I’ll need a a Saturday afternoon nap for sure.
Black Girl Run ladies will be running in all three Reggae Marathon Race events. 52 runners are entered in the 10K, 54 runners are doing the Half Marathon and 10 Runners are taking on the full Reggae Marathon. And rounding out the 142 total are 26 Cheerleaders! Yes, you heard right, they have their own Cheering Squad!
If you need some inspiration and motivation now, check out these quotes from Black Girls Run: Running Inspiration. And if you’re looking for an extra energy boost Saturday morning at the start of the race, just be near the group of Black Girl Run ladies at the start of Reggae Marathon. Despite the loud Reggae music that will be playing I’m sure you’ll have an easy time finding them.
Lisa, I look forward to running with you and all the Black Girls Run ladies in Negril this December. Great
Until next time…
