Beating the post-Reggae Marathon letdown

I've been running for years and know that sometimes there is letdown after a good race or big event.  It’s more than just the adrenaline, it’s realizing that I've achieved my goal so “What now?”  The post-race letdown feeling is not in your imagination. But while it’s real, you are not alone and there are buy orlistat 240 mg some effective ways to deal with it.  This article from Active.com is a good overview on post-race letdown.  And in this forum post in Runners World, runners share their feelings on post-race letdown and offer suggestions on how to deal with it.

For me one of the best ways to deal with post-Reggae Marathon letdown is of course get back to just ‘running’:  slowing down, enjoying being outside and taking in the scenery.  It’s what I enjoy most about running.

Navin at Reggae Marathon

Another thing that I find effective is re-reading some of the great Reggae Marathon race reports from Reggae Marathon fans.  First is the really detailed race weekend report from  Navin Sadarangani who ran Reggae Marathon on December 3 and the West Palm Beach Marathon on December 4.  Check out Weekend of Marathons.

Larry after Reggae Marathon

Then there’s Larry Savitch from Florida, New York who came down to Negril with the group, Easy Skankin.  They not only had a great run on Saturday but had a great vacation in Negril as well.  Larry took some great photos of the fantastic Negril sunsets and you can read his Reggae Marathon story here, Running in Paradise.

Holly at Reggae Marathon

And finally, there’s Holly and Team Tizzle who ran the full Reggae Marathon.  Holly and her husband Dave run to raise money for Breast Cancer.  Thanks for including Reggae Marathon in your racing calendar.  Here’s Holly’s Reggae Marathon Race Report.

There are lots of ways to beat the post-race letdown.  If you have any suggestions or comments, I’d love to hear from you:  [email protected].

Until next time…
