With just over 30 days to go to Reggae Marathon I can already hear the flight attendant’s voice, “Welcome to Jamaica” as the plane touches down in Montego Bay! OK, maybe that’s a little obsessive. Let’s keep that between us…but it does get me through the day.
Also helping are these inspirational running quotes from Gibson’s Daily Run Quotes. Some are funny, most are inspirational,
all are motivating so get running. Here are some recent favourites including the one above:
ROFL. Ultra runners probably have the same feeling. And likely so do competitors in the newly popular ‘Adventure Events’. I wonder if an adventure race director somewhere has thought of adding ‘sled pulling’ as a feature?
If I had a road like that to run on…I’m pretty sure I would always be running! This is definitely a Forrest Gump-style inspiration.
The nice thing about this quote is that it’s personal! It’s my goal. Different from your goal. And it always changes and evolves. Once I successfully finished my first 10K, I worked on a 1/2 Marathon then on to the Marthon…
Please tell my kids to give me more running books for Christmas! My favourite one in the photo above is ‘Born to Run’ by Christopher McDougall. It inspired me to embrace the ‘natural style’ running that I hope will keep me running and running and running. I was saddened earlier this year when I learned that Cabalo Blanco had passed away (he was the central character of Born to Run). It happened while he was doing his favourite thing: running!
Until next time…
